hello,
I purched a Holley 465 V/S carby for my aussie hemi6 and it came with a hot air choke, I'm not familiar with this set up, what i'd like to know is how do i hook it up.
Do i just run a tube from the port on the carby and run it down the lenth of one of the extractor pipes or does it need to be plumed into hot gases.
I have looked around the web and found nothing on it, can someone school me a little on this one please.

and here's a pic of the hemi6 it's going on.

Luke.

That setup is for replacement on an application that already has a hot air tube protruding into the exhaust crossover (on a V8, obviously).

The easiest thing to do would be to replace the black plastic choke thermostat with one that has an electric heater in it. Holley sells them, they're on eBay, etc.

Just connect 12 volts, add an optional thermostatic device that senses engine temp, and you're done.

JC Whitney and similar vendors used to sell hot air choke conversion kits that bolted to a header tube, gathered hot air, and sent it up a piece of tubing that screwed into the hot air fitting on the choke housing. I haven't seen one of these in years, but it might be another option for you. If you're handy, you could probably fabricate something similar that would work.
