I'm getting ready to build a Predator motor for a customer and I'm looking for some real world power numbers. The motor is 592", Ken spec'ed a cam of .929"In .875"exh with 283/308. Also looking for recommendations on header sizes.

Mine 572" cam way bigger than the one you posted, with a 2 1/2 " primary (24"long)and a 4 1/2" merged collector made 1231 hp and 865 lb. tq.

Wheatcraft's dragster is a 640 I believe and makes over 1300 HP and makes over 1100 at 4000 rpm.

What about Wheatcrafts Neon, If I recall it has Predator power to..Someday I will have a car worthy of Predator Power. I woudl think with a 598 1200 is a no brainer, so to speak. If my little B1 can make 1050 then you shoudl be there easy.

Chris still has the Neon as well and it is also Predator powered. That thing is over 1200 and seems to be easier on parts than the motor in the digger but I believe there is about a 100 hp difference between the two engines. Nevertheless most of these engines are 1100+ HP

What manifold?cast t/r or sheetmetal t/r?
That cam should be OK albiet a little short on lift and int duration.
2-1/4 2-3/8 2-1/2 into a 4.5" collector approx 13" long
My estimate is 1275hp
Let us know how you make out!

He's got the cast T/R w/two Prosystems. Car is a Daytona weighing 2250 w/driver & a glide. What kind of et's are you all getting with your motors and what kind of breakage have you all experienced?

Wether you like Elvis or not the reason people associate him with preadator motors is because he told us and showed us everything he knew about them, gave us real nice tech info. I have not seen any other serious info from any of the other guys running/building them... hint hint

I have to disagree. BoatRacer572 among others have been forthright and helpful all along on here with Predator advise. Because people don't necessarily publish or chronicle everything they've done doesn't mean they aren't a helpful resource...don't scare them away. Some people just have so big an ego (IMO) they have to broadcast everything they do. Or they are doing it to corral potential customers.

I am really happy with them .

I did do a bunch of welding on mine and the castings are pretty good .( I now have 19 head bolts )

I have 1/2 pushrods , so I had your usual sand drift of aluminum around the engine stand for clearancing .

The 1.9 rockers ,and 1/2 pushrods the only lifter that would clear was the jesel. A friend of mine is going to try the Jesel dogbone style lifter on his build. Those have the pushrod receiver cup located far down in the lifter body, I think he will have problems with the pushrod hitting the lifter body because of the exit angle . We will soon find out.

Next block will definitely be 2" lifter bore spacing with a 60mm cam tunnel.

Between 1200 to 1300 HP for these engine in full race trim is commen I believe.
