THere's one like this: http://speed.racingjunk.com/category/127...inum-Block.htmlnear me for sale. New as well, drilled for water passages/motor mounts. Never seen the built-in girdle/main cap mounting system before. Would this be a good engine to run on the street? Anything to look out for? Everything is std. Std bore/sleeves, cam height, lifter bores, deck height, etc.

I'd be hesitant to trust it for the street, because it may weep water. Why are you hooked on that one? You can buy a modern aluminum block for less.
Not interested in the one posted.
The one near me, he's asking half of that, but I think I can dicker down even more.

That add is a lie Donovan made the first race Hemi aluminum blocks(392 style Hemi motors ), not Milidon . Mildon made the first 426 race hemi aluminum blocks, as already siad they where both wet sleeve blocks, not good for street use If you want to buy a aluminum 426 hemi block for street use buy a Kieth Black street Hemi block, they are dry sleeve blocks designed and intended for street use BTW, you might want to check out the new World hemi aluminum blocks also to see if there intended for street use
Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

I never could get mine to seal in my dragboat, met Nick Arias at PRI back in the 90's, he had just bought up all of the molds, castings, sleeves, etc, from Milodon, got all new o-rings and sleeves from him, still wouldn't hold water, changed over from blown gas to blown alky just so I could get some use out of the block. A lot of plus's for the block at the time, love the oiling system, oils through the girdle, pressures the mains on the bottom at 5 and 7 o'clock instead of from the cam down. The girdle/main installation is pretty straight forward, 4-studs per main with about 20 3/8ths perimeter studs, just not user friendly if you have to get to the main bearings on a regular basis. Given the availability of new blocks now, the $6000 block is way, way over priced, only someone doing a ground up restoration on a nostalgia funny or dragster is going to want to pay that much. If your buddy will sell his for 1000-1500 and it hasn't been exploded and repaired it could be run in a dry-block drag, injected or mild blown alky combo, don't think you could ever get it to seal water for the street though. BTW if you do get it, I've got 9 sleeves and most head and main studs if you need any extras. Thats all I could salvage from mine.......

so that is why the Arias block has a slight similarity about it
Nick went into partnership with Walt Austin on the AA-500. This block was based on the Mopar 4.80" bore spacing and was inteneded for fuel and alky classes, never understood exactly what happened and why it never had the success, seemed like a bulletproof piece. The earlier Arias 8.3 litre and 10 litre engines were based on Chebby bottom end pieces, and were a totally different animal. I just wanted to clarify that, might be confusing to some that aren't familiar with them.
