Milling the stands down .070" , will this give me .070" @ the push rod adjuster? , or will it be more & how much?

Just don't wanna mill the stands to find more than .070" @ pushrod sdjuster.

Spoke with Jesel & they say .075" is max due to the depth of bolt holes into head , after cutting stands the bolt depth in stand will be .180".

TIA

Thats a bunch for sure...My 440-1 heads were machined wrong (only .025) and it was off a mile. Remember the other end will see what ever you mill times rocker ratio.. So milling .070 will result in a change in geometry (at the valve tip) of dang bear a 1/8th inch with a ratio of 1.7

What is the purpose of wanting the stands that much lower, if you dont mind me asking?

Had Smith Bros make me a custom set of pushrods with heavy wall , my fault they are .060" too short , been thinking about this & as you say the geometry will be all wrong if i do as said in my first post , so will shim the rocker stands to find out what the ratio for the milling should be..............will get hold of some .050" shim & get some measurements.

Had the stands milled today , strange Jesel won't give the calculation for milling.......anyhow , works out every .010" cut from stand moves rocker arm 0.0258" closer to valve tip , cutting .032" of stand netted .082 @ rocker arm , these are 1.55 ratio rocker arms.

Just thought i'd post the info.
