Body color or black? I've seen different flavors, but no clue as to what's correct. If you could get these painted, were there any restrictions (like no F8 etc?). Anything weird on can/cant order with vinyl top etc in sales brochures?
Post pics if you've got 'em!

Four body colors as well as black, look here, about page 7 or 8 from memory;

Wow! That's an awesome piece of history there!
I looked thru the bulk of your 71 archives, and couldnt find info on colors avail/NA.
Does memory happen to know if EV2 was one of those colors, or what the colors were?
I really wonder if these could be ordered with a vinyl top/ half canopy top, at least in those body colors... seems like it would have been a nightmare to have painted louvers laying around and not able to be on the body till top was added etc...

Backlight Louvers (J68) were body color on the following colors:

GB5 - True Blue
GF7 - Sherwood Green
JF6 - Sassy Grass Green
EV2 - Tor-Red

On all other colors, louvers were flat black.

Sweet! Thanks for the info guys!
Am I correct in also assuming that there's no way you could order these with either style vinyl top?

Here's a good example:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HAND-BUIL...=item3359962f2e

This car has a black canopy vinyl roof with the louvers. Does anyone know if the louvers were painted curious yellow or were they black on a GY3 curious yellow roadrunner?

Not to get off topic too much, but wouldn't the above example have a '70 spoiler since it was built so early?

I can't remember where I saw it but if an early car was only getting the rear spoiler (code J81) it would get the '70 spoiler but if it was coded for front and rear (A45) then the early cars would get the '71 style. Hopefully someone car tell us where I saw this.

You probably saw it over on Road runner nest. I remember you cause you showed me your restored alternator.

Mine has the front spoilers and the '70 wing. Is was built 8-17. I'm pretty sure they were both installed at the dealer. I guess it would depend on what the dealer had in stock?

Yeah it would depend on what the dealer had stock, cause I think the spoilers were a dealer installed option. Mine was built 06-10-71 so it probably got the gull wing. I heard for the first half of the year most RR's got the go-wing, but it makes more sense if it's what the dealer had in stock.

Any parts that were "factory ordered" & installed by the dealer would've been shipped inside the trunk/car.
I don't think any factory rear spoilers were dealer installed.

One would think the "pre volume" car should have the '70 style.

Yup, as I recall, Marty (guy who owned the car when it was restored) liked the 71 style better so that's what he put back on it.

Front spoilers were shipped in the trunk and dealer installed, rear spoiler would have been factory installed

Curious Yellow was not an available color for rear window louvers

Info from the roadrunnernest:
"Backlight Louvers (J68) were body color on the following colors:

GB5 - True Blue
GF7 - Sherwood Green
JF6 - Sassy Grass Green
EV2 - Tor-Red

On all other colors, louvers were flat black.

Backlight louvers were N/A on cars registered in the state of Pennsylvania.

Backlight louvers required G31 and G33 (Left and Right Chrome racing mirrors) or G36 (Painted Racing mirrors, L&R)"

Was this for both Plymouth and Dodge?
