Anyone using them and how is the quality ? How do they compare to Indy's ? Need something for my 410" stroker.

I don't know anything about ProComp but you might take a look at the PRW rocker arms for small block Mopar engines. They look pretty good and come in a couple of different ratios.

I was checking out the for sale Sb engine section and found an Ad for the Procomps 1.5 or 1.6's by member B&G Service. Just wondering if anyone here has used these rockers. They're priced reasonable. I sent them a PM just waiting for an answer.

All those "Shanghai Sharp" brands of rockers scare the pee outta me. Some of them actually look really nice, but I simply don't want to be the guinea pig if they drop roller tips or needles somewhere down the road.

I have a set of Indy roller rockers on my 416" but only have 288 street miles on the motor, then pulled it for the dyno. So they really havent been tested ! Looking for something that will hold up to around 500 hp in my 410" .

I used a set of the Procomp 1.5 aluminum rockers for two season on a 340 for bracket racing. Had no problems with them...removed them only because i wanted to use 1.6 ...

these had the roller bearing..

cam was a mopar .557 with mopar spring P3412068

I used some on an 360 and it took 3 sets to get the right spacers and rocker hold downs, also IMO they dont control oil very well, the rockers have two narrow bushings one in each side of the rocker creating a channel in the middle alowing oil to constantly escape you should heve seen the rockers when I primed the engine it looked liked a lawn sprinkler. I built this 360 in sept of 08 and it is still running fine but if I do it again I'll probably use something else, it was to much hassle.

I've only used one set of Pro Comps.... mostly because I do more high $ motors than budget ones, but they were on off shelf Comp Hyd. Flat tappet, 120 seat pressure, 300 open.... for daily driver truck engine..... put 6000 miles on them on set of Edelbrocks, no issues. Motor is still running in board member's Cuda in Maine to this day.... It was funny, the one rocker adjuster came out of box with the allen key hex missing from the top of the adjuster. Made for fun time setting pre-load on lifter.

I have set of the PRW Chrome moly rockers on my driver 448 big block, so far 3000+ miles on a solid roller, & the bushings look like new. I did run a hone through them to increase clearance/put some cross hatch on them when new & the adjusters they came with were beyond brittle, they broke while tightening lock nut adjusting lash for first time. Replaced them with T&D adjusters/nuts & no problems.... The PRW Aluminum stuff looks just like old Aluminum/large diameter needle bearing CATs. Not something I would want to use..... the Pro Comp's do not have needle bearings on shaft.... they are just a bored aluminum rocker body, riding on a Pioneer $18 shaft.

Thanks for the discription Ryan Sounds like they're alot different than the Indy's.

Did you replace the 1.5's with Procomp 1.6's ? If so any issues ?

Save your money and go with a name brand. I had a set for a BB and the bearings let go and sent metal through the motor in less than 1000 miles.

Turns out the problem was due to soft undersized rocker shafts. Shafts provided are .8715(not .8750) and have a hardness of 42.5HRC. Needle bearings must have a min shaft tolerance of .0005 and a min hardness of 58HRC(per Timken catalog, J146 bearing).

The slop in the shafts acted like a hammer and beat the heck out of the cups and broke a couple. Also, being soft allowed the needles to eat into the shaft and grind away at it. Off shore bearings didn't help any either.

Of course I found this all out after the fact. I never checked them at the start since they came as a "matched" set and I didn't know any better. Plus, they were recommended and sold to me by a known Big Block SOURCE.

I learned the hard way that quality costs $$$$$$, and sales people are just parts pushers wanting your green.

If you are dead set on using them....call Procomp, or any cheap rocker Mfg using needle bearings, and ask about their shafts. They must have a diameter of no less than .8745 and have a HRC of 58 or better. I truly doubt that any will meet that spec.

Accept nothing less than that or trouble will follow sooner or later.

Sorry guys....Ask any Aussie what they think about the Pro Comp brand. Can't repeat any answers as this is a family based site. I'm yet to here anything positive about any product they sell....spend the extra and buy the brand name you can trust!
