paint won't cure rust, I'd spend few hundred bucks and get it e-coated

i dont care what it would need to be coated with as long as it would work. how would you go about finding a place that could dip it in something?

ospho maybe???

rust bullet???

por 15???

use a spray and shoot it in between the brace and sheet metal, may need to drill a hole and plug it like they do when the rust proof a car in the doors and rockers ect...

I have only heard of acid dipping the hole body to remove the wieght on those 68 hemi Dart/Cudas

but then they would wrinkle the 1/4 panels with super torque hole shots after a while

that would be a big tank to dip a hood or a whole car body

there are places that acid dip car bodies to rid them of rust. then follow it up immediatly with a dip into an epoxy primer so it's all sealed up and "rust proof"

but they aren't exactly in every major city, you might have to ship the hood, or drive a ways to get it to them.

no need to take the hood apart. they can dip the whole thing. I was talking to a guy who did just that with a hood from a dodge dart. his only regret was that he didn't ecoat it immediately following, and just prepped it for paint and painted it. the inside bracing still formed surface rust, and at the seams on the underside, where water would run out, rust stains also came out and stained his paint job in a few spots

Buy enough POR-15 to fill this and kick the kids out of the yard...

Stripping and ecoating is the way to go. If you were in ontario I could help you out with the ecoating. Just had one of my doors done today.
