Here's my 1968 Super Bee that my dad and I restored over ~2 years. Some of the after pictures aren't updated, but I will show the most recent shot of what I have. Bought the car 1-19-04 and have 9,000 miles on the restoration . Dad and I did 90% of the work ourselves. Only thing we didn't do is putting new quarters on and other small body work and put on the vinyl top and headliner. My dad has his first car still (68' gtx) and this is my first car. Hopefully I never get in the situation where I'll have to sell it. Lotta blood, sweat, and tears in this car.

For more pictures click this http://s19.photobucket.com/albums/b158/hunterbee68/Super%20Bee%20resto/ . Over the course of this semester, I'll scan my pictures and put them up here. If you can't look at the album for some reason lemme know and I'll fix it.

Here's the finished product. (I don't have new pictures of the engine bay, but a lot is different under there.)

From when I got the car to now it has had different doors, fenders, and quarterpanels put on it. Still need to put a new trunk floor in it.

Somehow a prior owner of the car found out this was his old car and gave me pictures from back when he owned it. He gave me the name and number of owners before him so I'm trying to piece the puzzle together now. (engine, trans, fender tag, build sheet are long gone)
This car has traded hands a lot before I got a hold of it. What I ended up with was a lot of thrown together used parts but it still came out pretty nice.

I've taken it up to the Mopar Nationals and entered in the Young Guns competition and didnt get anything (got beat by a 02 neon in the stock class!! and a dart that showed up the day after judging and had lots of non-stock parts on it, but o well) came home and that same year I somehow got a trophy at Monster Mopar Weekend in the 68-70 B body dodge class

Great looking car - you guys did an excellent job! I really like the stance and the wheel/tire combo. If you have the info, I'd appreciate knowing the tire/wheel sizes and offset, thanks.

You said you farmed out some of the work on the car. Any place local around here that you used? Just curious as my car is apart and will be needing quarters also.

Great looking car. I have a 68 Coronet 440 2dr and this car always reminds of how nice a 68 Coronet/Super Bee is once done.

Thanks for all the comments, this car definitely came far. I remember showing it to my friends back when i got it and they were bc i thought it was the coolest thing ever. Got to drive it at the end of my senior year(with no stripes though). I've gone through a lot with the car.

The fronts are still 14 inch mag's. but can't think of the tire size.
Rears are 15X10 Wheel Vintique's w/ 5.5 inch of backspacing(rubs around tight corners or really steep hills and slight corners) 295/50/15's

We had a place down in st. louis on "the hill". last i heard they went outta business (just googled it and they still have the upholstery part, southtown auto). They actually installed one q-panel a little bit off so we took it back and they "fixed" it. dunno how they did it and i dont think i want to. other guy is off hwy p that did my vinyl top and headliner. He mostly does custom interiors for hot rods but does do other stuff. I can dig up his phone number, but don't know if he puts on convertible tops. I'll give you a place to NOT take your car to get a convertible top put on, but will have to ask my dad. He almost was able to do it all himself, but took it somewhere and they chipped off tons of paint somehow

veryy good looking bee, when i get mine i'm hoping me and my dad can have my car done before i'm out of highschool. I've got 3 years and a low budget so it'll be a close call.. you were in the position i'm in right now at once and it's amazing to be one of those few looking for a "piece of rust" car that all your friends think your crazy for wanting But i keep moving along and looking for a car and knowing there were people aout there my age doing this definetly make me feal a lot more at ease

The best part is all the time you get with your dad. The times weren't always smooth, but we rarely got mad about something. The original pictures actually make the car better than it was. Lots and LOTS of bondo . I have a piece that is half an inch thick back home from it. Here's the proud builders of my car

Awesome Job that is great looking Bee

My brother built his Road Runner with his sons and I hope to redo a old pickup with mine soon. I am sure sometimes were a little stressed but you learned so much. I know as you get older you will cherish the time you and your Dad worked together. I remember when you didn't win anything at the Nationals

Be very proud of that car it is great

What was I thinking....

That is one great looking Bee! Glad to see young people that get them done in a reasonable amount of time.
I've been working on a similar 69 Bee since I was 18..26 now and still don't have it done!
It's a Y2 Yellow w/ black stripe and vinyl top as well.
This really caught my attention as I am a KU alum and wanted to give you some crap about being a Mizzou guy..until I saw the car! Thanks for the motivation!

Wow! That is one good looking ride! The color combo looks great on the car. Big block 4 speed, you couldn't go wrong. It's really good to see young guys into the older cars... my hat is off to your dad also... I only hope my 70 will come out as good as your car.

Congrats....

Bryan
