After 275000 miles on my trusty 318, I've either got a blown head gasket or worse...

Anyway, I am going to replace it with a 360..what else do I need besides
1. Used shortblock.
2. 94-95 5.9 ECM for AT
3. Balance the 318 torque converter. I have heard B & M makes a flexplate that can be used, but, How does that work with the flexplate tone ring for the injection?

Also, I plan on upgrading the stock cam for a bump in performance... anyone have recommendations beyond the MP R/T camshaft?

hi
There are a couple threads here that pop up from time to time. I assume you're going EFI? You will need an electric fuel pump and either a 518 trans or to cut a place for the CPS into the existing trans' bellhousing. The 5.2 is neutrally (internally) balanced. You don't need to do anything to the torque converter from your 318's trans or the flexplate. For the 5.9, you will need to either balance the dampner and flexplate or the torque converter. For my 5.9, I used the Magnum dampner from BPE, a stock Magnum flexplate, and a neutrally-balanced torque converter.

I just finished the swap.if its a dakota you will need a r/t pan and pickup.$100 new from the dealer.i stock 360 flexplate $40 from junkyard but you will have to make one hole bigger for the converter bolts.all of your sensors off of the 318 as well as injectors depend of the year.i have a mp computer so I hope I don't have to change it
