We are removing the crossmember in the 67 Valiant, because the torsion bar mount rusted and twisted out of position.
Do you guys think it needs a cross brace welded in to prevent the unibody from twisting while it's out?
A friend is going to make the new crossmember ,by copying the old one and that will take a couple weeks to get done.
We have it supported by 2 heavy jackstands under the rear axle (for height) and two jackstands under the frame ,near the firewall, and a floor jack supporting the "K" frame weight.
Just nervous I guess.

no cross member needed. as long as its supported on both side with jack stands, you shouldnt have a problem.
