Have a chance to pickup a dana 60 truck rear 8 bolt 4-11
geared for about $500.00. Would need to cut down but is it worth it?

A little pricey for a truck Dana, they are usually a dime a dozen. I would not pay more than a couple hundred for one with a "posi"

IMO,yes its worth the $ to cut

just need ends and axles

IIRC you can use 8 3/4 axles?

still should be cheaper than building a unit from "scratch"

little pricy for a truck unit

Maybe Doc Diff will chime in.It does seem a bit pricey.Just add it up with welding and axles if all is well inside you will probally have at least a grand in it minimum.Rocky

Don't pay more than $100 for an open and $200 for a sure-grip equipped Dana 60 truck rear.

I would believe he is refereeing to a full floating 8 bolt hub on a truck Dana 60
