Is there a way to remove the head assembly from the jack stem? There are two machined dimples at the ends which prevents it from sliding off for obvious reasons. Aside from punching the dimples down & then reverse the process is there an easier non destuctive way to do it? My stem is nice and anodized & I dont want to destroy it in the blasting cabinet. I guess I could tape up the stem and blast the head without destroying the stem finish. Anyone have experience in this arena?

Here's a for yah.

I'll be doing this at some point too.

Maybe you'd get an answer in the restoration section.
