I have been wondering how long it would take NHRA & IHRA to see the type and quantity of cars and the packed stands for a PINKS ALL OUT event. Now let's see what happens.

You had to know it was only a matter if time before the NHRA big brass found a way to line their pockets with the Pinks popularity/ $$$.

I don't think Speed and Pinks All Out will go away. They have just moved there Corporate offices to Charlotte near Z-Max. I think NHRA has been seeing $$$$$ for a while and wanting to get in on the action. Finally learned what people want to see.

Ok, far be it for me to question the intentions of NHRA.
But I think the last time NHRA cared about the grass roots racer was in 1955. And from what I gather after reading the "We Were The Ramchargers" book, NHRA never cared for door slammers.
I would like to think NHRA is doing this because they see a decrease in enterys to National Events and Points meets and want to plant seeds for future racers, But I have my doubts.

Man that's a switch. NHRA catering to the little guy. John Force must have decided to race a street Mustang!

Just because the all mighty NHRA steps up to the plate every one crumbles? Not likely. NHRA's Sport Compact series died a painful death. And most here might not remember in the late 70's when the National Street Rod Association was growing by leaps and bounds, NHRA started a 'Street Rod' division that went down in flames after about 2 years.

NASCAR sucks worse than ever now, and there are some serious race fans out there looking for a race that's closer to home...I think the timing is right.

Sounds interesting enough....will have to look at the format and rules before passing judgement though...

Wait until NHRA bounces half the field out of tech for small stuff. I notice Christianson and his crew are a bit lax.

It will cost an arm and leg.You will have to be an NHRA member, and on and on.When will NHRA learn we(racers and tracks)donot need them. The best and fastest racing are at NON NHRA tracks.

I love this site becasue it has so many quality people and so much good information but I sometimes find it laughable that some people who couldn't find Glendora on a map feel as though they are uniquely qualified to comment on the inner-workings of NHRA.

We've been in business for more than a half-century and we're holding our own in the toughest economy I've ever seen. Something must be going right.

Rant off. Back to searching for Road Runner parts...

Maybe NHRA should listen to what their customers are saying instead of insulting there intelligence.
