Is that Strokerpost in the near lane, prior to painting the car blue?
Sorry Charlie, not me, that must be some REALLY old guy. Man I do miss that place. If they hadnt closed up I MAY have kept my car a while longer. Lotta great times spent there. Went by it the other day....just homes and home sites now.

Could it be the 12 ft shutdown area they had?
Actually, Pevely was longer (2000 feet) than any of the nine other eighth-mile tracks in the area with the exception of Pacific (2300 feet). That's not to say we didn't see several cars on the other side of Herkie-Hornine Road but the shutdown wasn't overly short.
The reason Pevely never ran after the '93 Junior event is because the flood washed out all the base gravel and the place was too wavy for even Juniors to run. The track flooded every year but the "Great Flood" had a massive current.
Almost a dozen years ago, the SLKRA built a kart racing course in the shutdown area. Nothing could have ever been done with the track after '93, though.
