I hit a rather large object in the road. Some broken plastic pieces but nothing major looking on the side of the road. Not leaking any fluids. Heard what sounds like slight lifter tick. Get back in it go about 10 miles slowing down for a light it starts sounding like a diesel. Fluid levels are fine oil light never came on but it sounds like all of the lifters are collapsed. Oil filter turned a quarter of a turn by hand but it wasn't leaking. Oil cooler brackets broke but cooler looks fine. No bent lines.

Lifters are about 4 months old. Bad lifters with bad timing to go out. Or could I have knocked something loose.

If the oil pan is not at all banged up or pushed in, I have no clue.

Could it be the shield between the engine and trans? May be just rubbing the t/converter.
