Wow, are you sure you know what you are getting yourself into? IMO that's a way to take two good things and make one bad thing.

*In answer to your question, assuming you are planning on running an automatic, and assuming it's a 70-74 Cuda you are working one, a 727 will work with aftermarket trans adapter, I don't know who makes/sells them but not too difficult to find. There's allot more to deal with to install a 392 in a Cuda, motor mounts, headers, etc. It can be quite involved, it's no simply drop in and go deal. Check out what this guy went through 392 67 GTX, and at the end of the day, it's still not a real "Hemi GTX" it's a 67 GTX with a 392 Hemi in it. You could probably spend less time & money putting a real 426 Hemi in your car.

And IMHO, they look 'wrong'. 50s engine in a 60s or 70s car.
Keep the engine for a 50s or earlier car and put a late hemi, small block or big block in the cuda.

My buddys brother put a 392 in a 69 B body a long time ago.It required a lot.Luckily he was a welder fabricator.Still took him almost 6 months.Rocky
