What was the original color combo? Do you have the fender tag? Love to see a pic of it if you do.

I'm confused? IS it getting leather seats or the original cloth & vinyl? I vite for the cloth & vinyl! Those are AWESOME looking in a black car. That would have also come with red door panel inserts that match the piping on the seats, what a sharp combo!

But why?????? The cloth combo seats are so much more interesting (and nicer looking IMO) and less common?

I'm with Scott on the seats, the cloth looks a million times better, cooler and is hardly ever seen! But either way - build it as ya want it

What engine? And please define "affordable".

Personally I'd put the original #'s 318 back in.

That car restored to bone stock original would be beautiful, yes, even as a plain jane 318 Gran Coupe. I can almost gaurantee you would never see another one like it. Whatever you decide, be sure to keep all the original parts, the next owner willlikely want them.

2-4k for a complete crate engine? Yes, it does sound crazy (nicer term might be "unrealistic") but that much coin might cover the cost of a budget based 360 build or a decent rebuild of your original 318 with a few hop up parts though.

If I was in your position I would watch the classifieds here on moparts for a good used built small block motor from a member in good standing on the board here.Im sure you can stay within your budjet and get a stroker motor or at least a 340.
