What is the best way to store blocks and heads for long term storage? I bought some nice stuff from john deere tractors for rust and corrosion-it works nice but what about putting the heads and block in some sort of bag or wrap oif some sort?

Keep them inside and away from moisture. If the parts still need machined then don't worry about a little surface rust. If the parts have been machined then you need to bag them, use desiccant, ect.

Eastwood sells an anti-rust coating that is like a spray on wax coating. It's very good stuff.

The phone co uses some stuff called corrosionX. goes on like clear coat but contains no wax or silicon. looks like a milky goo and protects up to a year, doesnt run or sag. put the block in a trashbag, squirt it down and close up the bag. I got my rockers stored like this until I put them on. Looks to be about 10 bucks a bottle

I spray it on the cylinders along with a fine mist of WD40 and rub it in till it dries. Then cover it up in a bag. It's been over 2 months and so far so good. No rust forming. It needs re application every 4-6 months.
