The tank and battery on my 37 are located in the bed right now. Where do you guys have them? The frame looks awefull narrow to squeeze a tank in and under the hood for the battey is pretty tight too.

you can buy or make your own batterey shelf/box to mount to the side of the inner frame rails,,the ones ive seen slide up and down from the mounting to make it easy to remove the battery,,,,my 40 coupe has the battery in the orignal place in a box under the floor on the drivers side,,,they do make street rod batteries now that are not much bigger then a motor cycle battery,,,you could mount in any position,,,

I've heard of guy's using the gas tank out of 65-66 mustang between the frame rails in the back. Not sure how wide it is between your frame rails. I've seen battery boxes that bolt fast to the frame and you can drop them down for maintenence then lift back up to drive. You could mount it to the outside of your frame under the cab, that way it would no interfere with your exhaust or drive shaft. later shawn

The best place to put the gas tank is behind the axle, under the bed, between the frame rails. 16gal fuel cells work, as well as the mid-late 70s rear aux truck tank or have one custom made, they are really not that expensive if you check around.

Batteries go anyplace you fit them in. Under the seat is really not a bad place. On my 50, I mounted the battery behind a door behind the running board under the cab that would have worked out well IF I hadn't went with a snow plow on the truck and needed a 2nd battery. I suspect behind the running board, under the bed, in front of the rear tire would work as well, pretty much wasted space there too. Gene

Since you are not in snow country unless you drive up to Flagstaff, another possible battery location is inside a front fender, behind the tire. You will want a cover to keep junk off and protect fron rock damage.
