As many of you know AHRA is in the process of re-establishing themselves as a viable Drag Racing Sanctioning Body. They already have several tracks under their sanction umbrella and even has taken over the operational running of the Northwest Louisiana old Red River racetrack. This arrangement is supposedly a multi-year arrangement with the track owners. Their rules and classes are outlined on their website.

Think they'll make it??? I certainly hope they do and I'm looking forward to some big races for North Louisiana.

looking at the people involved it should be interesting.

i really doubt it will ever compete with nhra, or ihra or rise to the status it once was.

do a little research on spokane raceway park and youll see a few of these peoples name mentioned.

I don't know. Looking at their rules, there seems to be a lot of emphasis on grass roots and nostalgia racing.

They've got to be a bit different....they can't go head to head with NHRA for the fuel cars and the dog and pony show. They don't have the venue, and there is simply not enough cars to support three organizations.

To me, their rules are promising. I'm rooting for them...but we'll see.

I think it's great. It gives those who can't afford NHRA and don't like the new IHRA format a place to call home.

I also look for a lot of people to run both AHRA and IHRA.

Our local track just signed with the AHRA last week. Ihra wasn't bringing anything to the table for the track and with such high fees for the Ihra banner, it was back to the Ahra. Thats what our track started as so it might be a nice change.

I see a lot more of that happening too . The NHRA / IHRA have to stop and consider the little guy racers and their needs to a far greater extent. It would be OK with me if AHRA filled that void.

I think it will survive - IHRA is about done the new owner only wanted the Monster truck deal and will let the rest die a slow death. NHRA is on the brink of financial collapse due to poor management - unless some of the pro racers step up and take control it may not last either.

do you think these guys will be any different? we almost lost our place to race with greed. and the ceo of ahra was a key player in that happening.

the old saying carful what you wish for it may come true come to mind.

like all tracks i wish you guys all the best.

i think the track managment means more to the well being of the track than who's sign they hang out front

That's cool! Now hopefully I will get my car together and be able to get down there and support them!

It would be interesting if they covered a track near me. I am more into Outlaw racing than NHRA bracket and Professional

They're 10.5 class appeals me

They got my vote! I hope they make it. Grass roots racing needs them. Cattering to the few with big $ will eventually catch up with NHRA. Just a matter of time. Maybe AHRA can speed the process along.

Will be interesting to see?? I will keep my eyes open.

I like the way ORSCA did things in the SouthEast.
