ok guys,
I have a 98 dakota v6. Its doesnt warm up, I have changed the thermostat , flushed the system, changed the coolant. best it heats up to is about half way from the 130 mark to half way mark. radiator cap stays cool, I know this doesnt sound too bad in summer but dam, cant defrost or feel hardly any heat. I have shot the engine with ir gun and heads are 187 exhaust manifold is 390 upper rad hose 140 lower 58 the heater hose 160. any ideas, I have never had a problem like this normally its overheating not under. ohh fan is 5 blade mechanical. Pull the stat and check it even though its new.Make sure its a 195.That and check the temps on the heater hoses. They should be pretty nuch the same temp on both.Rocky

I checked tstat it opens at 192, and the heater hoses show a maybe a 15 degree difference. This has me stumped. John

The problem may be in the heater box. The doors may not be opening to let the hot air out.
