OK.

Have you tried installing it cold then? If not, put it in the freezer for a couple hours so the metal contracts, then slip it in cold.

I had a bleep of a time getting mine in. Broke the first one off in the block...DUH..

Finally wound up chamfering the end, lubing it up but most importantly I made a tool to fit around the tube, with a finger welded on to hammer on..The ring that fits around the tube need a slot in it to be able to remove it after the install..

Dont have a picture of the tool you made do ya? You may need to patent it, lol! Im wondering if I make the tool if I will have enough room to hammer it in. Did you try the freeze thing first?

Have a helper slip the open end of a 10mm wrench over the tube at the step flange the goes into the block & hold it steady... Now using a hammer & long punch from above tap the tube into the block... I actually have a chisel I modified to use with my air hammer.. Quick & easy...

I always just chamfer the end, then use a bolt that just fits the inner diameter.Tap the bolt with a small hammer from above.Easy and cheap.

Heres the trick. Put a small cut in the end of the tube 1/4 to 3/8" long, across the diameter. Use a thin hack saw blade or equivalent. When you go to install it, it will compress and slide in. Tap it all the way until it is seated. Make sure to use a little sealer. Ive been doing it over 30 years...no problems!!!

I used a cheap crap chrome one, and measured it against my original steel one and it was larger (don't remember the specifics, but it wasn't going in like that). I put it in a vise and wrapped some rough sandpaper around it, and went to town. After a few minutes of this it was close enough to the original size to go in with no drama.

Here is the soon to be patenend tool. If you have a bracket on yours you will need a slot in the tube so it can be installed and removed
