Collector kits start at $115 in MS and $150 in SS - that's for 2 collectors including your choice of transition cones.

plus a week of welding.

bet there's not enough increase to warrant cost and assembly time for 99.9% of racers here because the rest of the head is not tuned for optium results

Everyone has their own cost threshold. In our testing we have found that if your headers are absolutely perfectly made to your application then the effect of a merge collector is very small.

Unfortunately I have not seen very many "perfect headers". There are usually a few, or even many compromises that have to be made just to get them to fit into the car and miss all the moving parts! In those cases, merge collectors do have a noticeable impact.

Another consideration is whether the collector can make your header build simpler to build by offering better fitment. Like that time I bought a "one size fits all" seatcover guaranteed to fit everything from a Ferrari bucket seat to a Rambler bench seat. It fit, but they should have included extra blades for my box cutter to cut it down to size! Lesson learned, beer and late night TV don't mix!

We are with cone!

Thought I'd share pics of the finished(almost) product. Total cost of metal was $42, plus 6 hrs of my labor.
