Karl, Let's be real here. There's no way you can tell me that panel was in worst shape after then before! Come on! There was some serious damage to that panel in the middle reflection section. Did you try to place it on your car prior to sending it to me? I've sent you emails telling you to send it back and I'll go through it again. I've even since bought a better core and offered to restore that for you, but you have not responded to those offers, so what's going on with that? As it stands right now you have a free panel since you cancelled the check and stuck UPS with the bill on this restoration. Call me at 810-395-7162 to resolve this, I no longer have your phone number on file. Matt @ MCB / Mopar Metal Restoration.

Since I took a month off of work to assemble this car and get it to Vegas, I've been pretty busy getting caught up. I left you messages on both your #'s the day the panel arrived, and didnt hear a word back except for a voicemail left on my home # while we were in Vegas. I called you back, left the same #'s you already had, and didnt hear anything back until UPS got involved. I also emailed you on 4/23 asking if there was going to be any attempt at resolving this... Didn't hear anything back till the 7th of May, via email.
BTW, our check was made payable to you, not UPS. We placed a stop payment on the check when we didnt hear anything back from you via email, cell phone, etc. and according to both our bank, as well as UPS, we were well within our rights to do so. UPS told us (after we'd already put the stop payment on the check), that they were not going to forward payment on to you until the matter was resolved. Unforunately UPS did send your payment on, and once that had happened, agreed to help us resolve the situation by contacting you on our behalf.
The panel was supposed to be restored, not just 'better' than the way it was sent to you... I could have made it 'better' here with a scuff pad and some black krylon, but I sent it to you to be RESTORED.
I actually purchased that panel from a board member. Once it arrived here, I held it up to the car with the taillight housings installed. With the exception of the areas around the ding in the drivers taillight corner, it fit pretty well. I have three huge .bmp pics of the panel on the car it came off of, seemed to fit that car rather well too. These weren't hand-made, individually-fitted-to-each-car-by-english-tinsmith parts, this is just regular old assembly line trim. The car itself had lower quarter patches, not full quarters put on it.
If the core was so rough, why didnt you express that upon receiving it? Why tell me that turn time would be three weeks, and it'd be restored, down to polishing the center reflector, if it wouldn't/couldn't be done?
You & I have conversed by email since your last post, and hopefully are somewhat closer to rectifying the matter, and if that can be done, great, and you'll be a stand up guy. Sorry if you dont agree with what we posted, but it's a pretty black & white issue to us.

Here's before pics... I had to resize these from 3mb+ files, so there's some resolution loss, but you get the idea.

But have you called Matt as he suggested in his lone post here? Matt seems to me to be a very level headed and reasonable person - he won't go off on you like some might. I can almost guarantee that if you spoke with him this matter would be resolved to you guys' mutual satisfaction. Or if you wish, you can PM your phone # he will call you.

Why would UPS get involved? The situation is between you and MCB.
UPS had to forward the check, MCB is the customer that contracted UPS to collect payment from you, they have no right to hold it.
Hope you and Matt work this out.

That is why I do as much as I can myself...

Not perfect - but no one to blame but me... - It did take quite a bit of time (about a month of weekends to get it done) but...

Good luck...

Don't want to mention any names, but I had a trim resto shop do my Cuda trim & took over 6 months. He held me hostage by jacking up the price berore shipping. He scolded my friend who shipped him his NOS A990 grille for calling him after 6 months. Said, "didnt you read the rules about calling me that was posted on my website?" & hung up on my friend. Even jacked up the price on him as well as taking out all the rivets & disasembled it when he was specifically told not to.
We all make mistakes, but I sure appreciate reputable vendors who keep true to their word & work to resolve any disputes fairly. I try to go the extra mile in my printing business & appreciate it when others do so to rectify a situation.
Best of luck to you.

And customers put up with this? I don't care what the quality of the work product is, how could you feel good about yourself as a man by allowing a person hired to SERVE you to treat you that way?

I had a really good conversation w/ Matt @ MCB this a.m., and wanted to share with all involved in this thread.
Matt certainly is going to rectify the issues we've had; he's actually neck deep in restoring a 2nd panel, that he located all on his own, in effort to make things right!
I want to be the 1st to admit that my original post was a little over the top, and perhaps if I had taken some time to digest everything prior to piping up here, I could have come up with a better way to put everything.
Matt is (as all of us are) pretty busy, and I know I have been since Vegas as well, however even when he could have told me to jump in a lake, he still talked at length with me about the issue, and came up with the best solution possible.
A lot of folks have used MCB in the past, without issue, and I dont want this issue that I had to reflect badly on Matt or his business; I think this is going to work out well, and anytime you have an issue with a company, thats all you can possibly hope for.
Thanks to all for the encouraging words!

Good deal. Matt seems like a straight up guy & I'll have to check out his website (if he has one). I know there's a shop in calif called King of Trim & looks like they do great work, too.
Really nice psople to talk to as well.
