Anyone have any info on the following Crane Cams Mech roller Hemi camshafts.

R 285/410-8
R 290/446-4
R 286/500-4
R 325

Im almost 100% sure the last set of numbers is lobe lift.
There was a post on here several months ago that might have mentioned one of these cams.
I would like to pick one that would best fit my application...
572 Hemi, heads flow 460cfm.700 lift, 13.8:1 compression, MP X-Ram.

yes duration then lobe lift. The second one looks good for you. I may know someone that may have one, I'll try to find out.

isn't that normal for a Hemi grind? to reduce the intake charge loss out the exhaust?

When we were running hemi's back in the day, we shrunk the exhaust valve to 1.85", and were going to go with smaller exhaust lobes.

The R286/500-4 was commonly used in the Super Stock Hemis in the late 70's and maybe early 80's. The R290/446-4 was the first popular Crane grind for the Pro Stock-style Hemis, but was a killer on valve springs. It was replaced by the R296/4778-8 which wasn't quite so hard on springs even with more lift. I have never heard of the R285/410-8 but suspect it was for the heavier Super Stock cars.

I run a Comp Cams 296 Duration, 790 lift, 108 LSA. Seems to have good torque.

The Crane R290-446-04 is the oldest cam, an early SS Cam, 290 @.050 int and exh, .446 lobes int and exh, LSA 104, 82 overlap, gross Int lift .700, Exh .678. This was generally replaced by the R292-500-06, .500 lobes, LSA 106, 80 overlap, gross lift .785/.760. The SS/DA cam was the R286-500-04,.500 lobes, LSA 104, 78 overlap, gross lift .785/.760. The R296-4778-08 was known as a 4 speed SS/A cam, .478 lobes, LSA 108, 80 overlap, gross lift .750/726.
