How much weight could I lose going to a fiberglass deck lid? How about losing the rear window regulators? Thanks. 70 DART.

Don't have any answers for you, just wanted to comment on how nice a car you have
Thanks! HEMIFRED, yes for the trunk. I have a fiberglass hood, front bumper, front valance already. They lowered the weight I can run in our heads up series, and with leaf springs I can weigh 3150. With the aluminum block, it wouldn't hurt to lose some weight in the back. Thanks on the window regs.

The car is 3300 now, but that is with 90 lbs or so of lead. So I can still lose another 60, and I was just thinking the deck lid would be easy to do compared to fenders. I understand what your saying about front end weight, but I have to put some weight in the front to keep the frontend down anyway. Just trying to take advantage of this weight break I got for having leafs.
hows about some travel limitors to keep the car down or a shorter front tire

I'm going to try the limiters, and some good shocks, probably DA Afcos, we'll see if that helps? Thanks!

strip all the weight out of the car wherever you can get it off THEN if you HAVE to add it back in the back in the form of ballast. My cousin always told me this and his 3rd gen camaro was 2900 WITH driver ..... My car is 50/50 and is 3500 with me in it, Id say get the weight out of the back, but be prepared to put alil back in if you need it..Meaning have the weight with you to add at poor tracks or on days where the track is not working that well, Also get some limiters on that car, i made some nice ones for mine , they bolt in the stock upper a arm bumper spot and are adj, I have gone the fastest with about 1.75" of travel up front. Wheelies are cool but they dont get you down the track

[image] [/image] this is super easy to make, go to a hardware store, those are coupler or links for threaded rod, they are 3/8 thread size. I used a scrap piece of flat stock ofr the bottom and tacked it together like that, Then the sunebber is just a generic bump stop and will screw right in, and the other side can be bolted from the bottom with a short 3/8 bolt through the factory hole, If you need less travel you can screw the bump stop up or just have different ones trimmed for diff travel.
