I'd like to know what size/year an oil pan with the stamping "971" was used on. I have 1973 & 1974 parts books that indicate 400/440 R and W carlines had an 3614970 P/N oil pan, which is the application I'm looking at. I didn't find any 3614971 within either of those parts books or any number in the oil pan section that ended in "971".

Please help.

Yeah, the part number is different than the stamping number...They don't want to make it that easy to find one !!! ..I remember that from when I bought the new one from M.P....It's for a big block using the isolated K frame {73-up RR, cordoba,charger, etc...}

Here is something funny I found, Moroso also sells the 971 pan If I had to guess, they are probably buying it from Mopar, painting it black and putting their decal on it.

What a crazy business

..That's wild !! ... Here's my 971 pan on the car{73RR} and a backside shot of the skid plate I fabbed up so I can jack on the K frame without the risk of customizing the front of the oil pan...I have the M.P. deep pan to go on the trans yet and hopefully the skid plate is going to do the job of running blocker...
