.135" higher than it was in the 340 block.

This is if you are using the 360 stock stroke crank. I know a guy with this combo. I think he had to clearance the piston some.

I would spend money on a set of pistons instead.

It can be done using the low compression 340 flat top piston. I have a 360 that I still run in my street car Dart with them in it, but this short block was built back in the late 80's. If I remember correctly those pistons have about a .100" lower compression height than the 68-71 340 piston, I also had to machine valve notches and trim some form the bottom side of the wrist pin area for the crank to clear. With the availablity of good aftermarket pistons nowadays I would just use a good piston built for a 360 and not mess with the 340 piston.

pin is higher in a 360 piston than a 340. both have the same rods though.

Can be done with the Low CR 340 (72-74) slug but these days it's not worth the effort and you have to Eyebrow them anyway for aything bigger than a broomstick cam.

Just get a set of the KB or Sealed powers and you're right close to 11:1 with a closed chamber head...

Hard to beat 200 bucks for new pistons. And that's from summit! Could probably find them cheaper somewhere else.
