what do we know about these? raised ports Iv learnt about & not much in manifolds available, they say the flow very well but most aftermarket heads do compared to an iron head
anyone using them?

a pair of bare casting has poped up for sale here quite cost effective, just weighing the options

if they are new and untouched they aren't very cost effective unless they are chapman versions , every other set needs some type of FIXING ... MP doesn't have a QC department

Yes, the design of the Stage VI is pretty good. But like was mention, its a crap shoot and you want a good head/machine shop to look them over before you buy them.
Headers are available for these heads from TTI. Bare castings always seem like a good deal, but add up everything thats needed and it really does'nt pay to buy them, usually.

What's the intended application? They can be a very good head for the right combination, but aren't worth bothering with if something else is better suited in the first place.

Like Brad said they are good depending on combonation and if they are still in good shape. I have a set sitting on my shelf collecting dust, I don't know if I should bother to get them checked out.

You should send yours to Dwayne Porter in Vermont and let him them out. He's extremely knowledgeable about Stage VIs and knows what problems to look for, as well as how to make 'em work right.

You MUST have them checked , you can not imagine how screwed up they can be .

I have a set. They were supposed to be off a crate engine with just a few dyno runs. It didn't make any power on the dyno. They changed heads. I bought them for what seemed like a good price at the time. They sat around for years before I sent them to Dwayne. Dwayne changed 5 seats and did a lot of other work...

Don't bother. Get yourself a set of ported Edelbrock Performer RPMs along w/ the matching springs for the cam and move on with it.

If you have a local shop that can finish those heads then it could be a good deal for you. There aren't a ton of shops who are set up with the equipment to properly finish a set of heads like that though.

The Stage VI design was a great idea but the execution was a little sloppy. If you have the money to get those heads properly finished then they could be a really nice setup for you. But you're going to have to hook up with someone who really knows how to finish the job because the heads in that picture are going to take some serious work.

Then buy some Victors, instead. You could spend as much $$$ as a set of Victors and the rocker gear to use w/ 'em as what it will take to finish those unfinished Stage VIs and still not have as nice heads.

FWIW, I have a nice set of Stage VIs on my Challenger and a set of CNC-ported Victors mocked up on my spare block, if that helps put any perspective on my opinions.
