VITC_GTX OP master V Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 4,929 Tri-Cities, Washington	Stock 400 with ~80,000 miles on it. Mix of highway/town driving what do yo think it will get for gas mileage...I'm guessing ~13-14???

RUNCHARGER I Live Here R Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 15,976 Chilliwack B.C. Canada	I had quite a few 400's when new. Highway only at around 70MPH they got 15MPG in trucks and 17-18 in cars. Subtract around 2MPG for combined city/highway. That was with 3.21 gears and of course in good tune with tight timing chains. Sheldon

bordin34 super stock B Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 842 Urbana, MD	My 73 400 that is stock except for a mild cam, a 1970 383 intake, headers, and a 670cfm Holley Street Avenger gets less than 10mpg around town in my 73 Charger with 2.45 rear gears.

QuickDodge super stock Q Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 1,159 Cruising!	Many years ago, I drove a Chrysler Newport with a 400. It was a stock, low horsepower 400. Don't recall the axle ratio, but it was fairly economical cruising on the highway. (16-17 mpg)
