I am curious about your home race tracks clean up policy. If you suffer a major engine breakage and oil down the track, are you expected to assist in cleaning it up?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Track like Vegas? No, they have all the latest/greatest track cleaning equipment. I'd only get in the way.

Small town track? If you're talking the "broom brigade" with a golf cart, kitty litter/ash, tractor pulled sweeper and as many people as they can muster to man push brooms, yeah....I'd be out there.

Now are you "expected" to help out, I'd say NO.

I think its reasonable to say that if you break your junk to the point of spitting oil all over the track, most people figure you've got your hands full dealing with your car for the next hour or so. Track staff will deal with the track.

yes they figure you are having enough problems at that time, but it never hurts to tell the track help thanks even though you didn't do it on purpose.
