I speak of the new MP/World block.. What do you consider the limit on decking to a factory block? Or even a World MP block?
I really didnt want to deck the engine this much but to get the compression to were we wanted it is what it is..

Deck height is 10.69 now

Reading through the paper work looks like the Deck height on this engine is .600 at 10.725
My machinist was actually suprised on how well the deck was squared and flat..It was off on one side .001 from front to back. The other was off .0015-.002 or so.
Looks like my deck height now is in the .565 range.
I would love to know the deck thickness of production Hemi blocks...

bob, guys in super stock who make 900-1000 hp, considering where barton is now,, will cut .350-.520 off the deck of the world blocks and have no issues with head gasket sealing

on a factory block like what came in a car i knew guys were cutting them .100-.150

Stock blocks can vary with core shift etc. Sonic testing is a good idea before machining.
