So I will ask this question again from my earlier post since no one answered it. Do chevy owners have more money, more grit, more determination, more time off, less excuses, better jobs, and faster cars? I never asked what was the definition of a street car. I just asked WHY there were no Mopars there quicker than a 10 since there seem to be a lot of them on this forum and live close to where it was held this year.
I am pretty sure I have the BEST EXCUSE for not attending DW-I have been in Iraq for 4 out of the past 5 years! I would love to do DW or PT but have never MADE the time or had my vacation line up with the dates-I plan on correcting that when I come home from the Sand in 2011.
Street cars-another topic that brings many opinions out. "You can't do this or do that" are you sure?
I have been in a few pretty fast Street Cars for more than just a run to the store for a gallon of milk, a stick of butter and a loaf of bread. One of my favorite nights was spent hanging out with Tony Sauer. I think we were out all night (530 pm till 1am) running the streets with a bunch of Gearheads in different vehicles and travelled all over Chicagoland! TS has had faster cars since then-but it was the PEOPLE that made that night stand out in my head.I guess you either 'get it' or you don't.
I tend to think a street car is anything you can and WANT to drive for more than a 100 miles JUST BECAUSE. Damn the rules or conventional wisdom. But what do I know my Sport Fury was only a 12 second car (complete with a cage, Alum race seats, ladder bars, full manual VB, 4.56 gears and a 3,500 stall convertor in a 4,500 lb car) This NEVER stopped me from running in the left lane on the highway (ok, I did not run there a super LONG time) or from getting more than 15 mpg.
As far as haters, this site is sort of like 7-up-always had them, always will. Some folks like chrome valve covers while others want stockers. Some like blowers and boost while others like there cars to breathe as Henry first intended. NEVER will the seperate camps hug or sing kum-bye-ya together.
Oh, and I think snuggling with the Playboy Playmate will get you more time in the long run.
I won't have the fastest street car, but I plan to park in the same lot as them in 2011-maybe my car will get faster through osmosis ?
Thanks for the post-no matter how off track it has become-I enjoyed it

Yeah, but if you ONLY ever got to snuggle, you'd dump her like a hot potatoe.....
Like I'd mentioned.......I'd like to do it.......with my 13 to 1 motor and 4.10's, but my stuff isn't fast enough to run anywhere near the front of the pack.......
