So I'm trying to get my truck repowered and I have to decide what to do for a carb. It's a basicly stock 89 318 with headers and a cast t-quad intake. I have a 1406 e-brock to put on but i will need to use an adaptor. I have the open type but I was reading some were that it would not work correctly with a open type spacer and that it needed a 4-hole spacer. Could someone with experiance in this give some advice. Thanks

I used an Edelbrock on a spread bore intake on my truck. Just turn the spread bore side of the adapter down to the intake and bolt the carb to it. Worked fine for me.

Thanks thats what I was going to do. For some reason I had it stuck in my head that I needed a 4 hole type adaptor. Most aftermarket intackes are NOT 4 hole type and the carb should work fine on them. Guess I just was over thinking.
