I was hoping to convert a 65 Belvedere (poly wide 318) from 3-on-the-tree to floor-shift, but there's no shifter bracket mount holes on the tailshaft. I dragged home a donor, 73 Charger (small 318) with what appeared to be a 4-speed, and a hole hacked in the floor. I pulled the motor & trans from the 73 and the tranny looks identical to the '65 - no shifter mounts. I haven't check to make sure the 73 is a 4-speed or not, probably not. Anybody done this conversion?
My last resort would be to weld a shifter mount on the tailshaft.
-Wow - 25-year Mopar nut.

When we used to do it, back in the day, when you bought the shifter it came with a bracket that bolted to the trans. That was what you bolted the shifter to.

Ok, like an old Mr Gasket kit. I'll check into that, it would work. -WoW.
