Here's the one under the silver van. It actually looks like this one might even work with the snubber attached to the axle!
Lets hope you never have to find out.

this van is awesome!!!!!
Thanks, but which one? 66 A-100 that is the long term major project 66 A-100 parts van 69 parts RV/PU 69 RV 69 A-108 monster?
I'd guess you mean the last, since it's the only one complete that has had work done... It's been sitting in the back; I need to get it out and do up the engine. Maybe if it's cool tomorrow, I'll get started.

The 02 died and wouldn't start. Pulled codes and it kicked out Crank sensor, so I replaced it. Still wouldn't start, so I checked some more. Turns out the fuel pump makes noise but no pressure. Getting a fuel pump module Saturday. So, in the mean time, i got some done on the 108, check it out at post #101 here. http://vintage-vans.forumotion.com/t20340p90-rod-s-az-a-108Before After (still more to be done)

I would kill to have a straight rear bumper like that! I run without one cause I can't find a good enough core to re-chrome..
It really doesn't matter whether you win or lose… as long as you look good doing it!

It actually has a bit of a tweak to it in the left side that the paint and angle hide.
Gotta get it off the trailer today and look it over a bit more.

No progress on the A-100 that started this all, but have been busy with the 8 door roof and working to get the 108 running again. I recovered the doghouse, replaced the freeze plugs, water pump and thermostat housing. Got the WP pulley, spacer, fan, air cleaner and breather all blasted and will paint. Also ran new wire for the engine sub-harness, just need to add terminals and a resistor for the coolant wire, then connect to the connector. EDIT: got more done, here's how it looks now. Still need to loop the heater hose, get a shorter bolt for the intake, mount the choke and return spring/bracket, finish the fuel line and complete the wiring harness. Oh, and replace the noisy alt bearing.

Well, I got the 108 running barely. The carb is fighting me, I've had it off 3 times, needs to come off again. Also the exhaust leaks worse! May just redo the gaskets, may clean up and swap on the 2bbl set-up. Got the Dajiban running again. Had a bad battery and bad connections. Working on the roof of the 8-door. The rails and inner structure is all prepped, I'll be putting Rust Mort on tomorrow then cleaning it off and priming Tuesday. Then on to removing the other roof.

Welcome to the site! Whew, I just went thru another big mess trying this exact thing. I won't go into it here, just explain my A-100 camper deal in hopes it helps you get it done or rethink how it's done. First, I had to tow only an hour or so. Short tow over pretty smooth roads and little traffic, mostly downhill. Next, the camper was wider than the trailer. My trailer is ~83" wide. Going by memory, the camper is roughly 90" wide, so it had to hang over one or both sides. In this case, I had only one removable fender (since redone), so it could only hang over one side. It was butted up to the right fender and hung over the driver side tires with the fender off. I was given the 2 2X12" boards to roll the camper on, providing a little more vertical clearance. It did rock during the tow and rubbed the camper skin on the right fender. There were a couple times the driver side tires rubbed too (dips in the road). So, for a long distance tow over rougher roads and wanting to keep everything intact, I would suggest going with an equipment trailer or one that has the entire deck over the trailer tires. It will be higher (check total height) and more prone to tipping, but you will avoid the many clearance issues I had and the damage it inflicted. It really is a better solution with less headache.
