SUUUCKKKK, big time !!!rocker stand bosses on the indy alumininum legend hemi heads interfere with the geometry and dont go in straight.there is too much meat on the castings.
also valve cover stud holes are off and don't line up with valve cover holes.
so now i'm grinding on the milodon seals in order to get the proper clearance and geometry to get the tubes to sit in flush with no binding and sparkplugs go in straight.
doesn't indy take any of this into consideration before designing and making this stuff.

Hey Chris
Are those just the anodized blue aluminum ones? Do they use any kind of gasket, seal or O-ring? I didnt think so..I was thinking they just push in, and the soft aluminum conforms to the counter bore etc correct?
I hate to sound stupid, but I dont know, or never seen a installed set except a few pics. I was looking at getting a set for My MP/Edelbrock heads (M2 casting) but not sure if the would fit or not..I have the standard MP Hemi tubes and O-rings I hope to use with the stamped steel chrome valve covers.

Thanks

Bob, they are the blue anodized ones with the countersunk recessed internal o ring, which press in the counterbore, yes there is a o ring.
i put them in the freezer to get trhem to shrink and they went in but now i have to wait until they go back to room temperature so the spark plug tubes can slide into them. right now they are tight since they are frozen.
hope these things work, pulling spark plugs and all that oil really bites.
my only concern afterwards is if i need to pull out a tube at the track these seals don't come out of the counter sunk bore, that means pulling off the valve cover.

just finished installing these PITA pieces.
never again will i buy these things.
i'll deal with the oil next time around if i ever need a set.
no matter how you drive them in, they are always cocked when you put in the sparkplug tube.
you go to align them and they pull out.
4.5 hours to get them right.
dont know how i'm going to get these valve covers off when i need to adjust rockers.

It's the casting, not the tube seals causing them to not be straight on the indy heads. They really need some clearance machining to fit properly. Bob, the new M2 Castings will need some machining as well. Some fit ok, some don't as the casting doesn't have enough clearance. The seals work just fine with the old MP heads.

every Indy and stage V head I have alrady has an O ring in the plug hole and didn't need the KB seals.

You are Correct Fred, the press in seals are expensive and a pita. They tend to come out and sometimes wont let the plug tube seat. They are mainly for stock style heads.Indy and Stage Five have solved that issue by grooving and o-ring the pocket.
