Hi all , I was wondering if anybody can make some set up recomendations on this combo i am trying to get running right this is what i have :
440 block .030
ross pistons 17.5cc dish flattop with valve cutouts
4.15 hemi crank
6.90 inch rods
.000 deck height
Indy sr 75 cc chambers bowl ported and gasket matched .
works out to true 10.5 to 1 compresion
harland sharp rockers 1.5
smith bros push rods 9.350in
solid roller comp cam with 256in 260ex@.50 w/630 lift .
Mopar M1 single plane intake
Deamon 850 anular carb mighty deamon
mallory hyfire VI with all maching ignition parts
mallory comp ss mechanical distributor .
4 speed 3800 pound b body with 4:10 gear .
have been trying to get running right but still performace is marginal seams to rattle (ping)on pump gas at high rpm .
i have timming set at 19base 16advance =35total
all in by 2500
carb has box stock setup except for 35thou squirter on primary side
idle vacuum is about 8 1/2 to 9 1/2
should i increase jet size or change advance curve ?
what i mean is quicken the advance curve to all in by 2000 and limit to 34total or richen the carb up ?
I am not sure what way to go i have a lm2 on the car and at idle a/f ratio is 12.3
and at wide open throtle it gos to 13.5 @ 5000 rpm in 4th gear. this is what i sean last night with a air temp of 35deg and engine temp of 165deg . help
where should i go ? thanks in advance guys !

I would be less worried about the springs in the distributer since your running a 4 speed and probably leaving on high enough rpm's that you should be at max advance,if not set your springs so that you are.The pinging is the big concern and can be damaging.Back up your total until it quits.I would check all my timing marks and light to make sure your numbers are correct.

Mine is a 4 gear, I have an MSD and I run the black buching, and one blue spring, and one light silver spring. It goes to max advance and only goes to my 36 degrees.
