Anybody know where I could find a rag joint for a 73 New Yorker? Mine just came apart in chunks. I think it is the same part as a B body as well, but I'm not sure. I checked a few sites like rock auto and firm feel but didn't see anything. I've seen aftermarket replacements for the thin later style like used in M bodies and trucks but nothing like the original one, which is about an inch think.

I bought one locally for a 73 ply. wagon off the shelf a couple years ago. Have you tried your local auto parts store? Worth a shot!

More than one person on here has claimed to use two of the thinner ones in place of the thick one.

It could work.

I stacked up two thinner Motormite branded ones and it worked really well, about 70,000 miles trouble free.

The downside to the thinner ones is if they let go entirely, no more steering...though they don't seem to let go on a regular basis, they die a slow death instead.

The metal pieces in the oem part are nice failsafe devices and if you want to keep that feature intact, then try this:

Thanks for the link, that bouchillon piece looks just like the stock one. I wouldn't have thought they would have it! Little more $$$ than I thought it would be though.

I'll try the dealer first but I'm not holding my breath, it seems like they don't want to help you unless it's a new car.
