Currently running 4.10 gears, turning 7200 at the 1/4 stripe w/ a 29.6" tall tire. I go into 3rd gear before I get to the 1/8 mile.

I want to change the gear so I can run 1/8 mile only. I think I can drop another tenth or so by doing this.
I think a 4.88 would do it. I've played with some calculators and think this is close. What yall think? CHIP

I run mostly 8th mile also Chip...My tire sizes are usually 32" or so tall though..The 4.88's are the perfect choice IMO.
That Hemi like the RPM I figure, so the little extra RPM given with the shorter tire will be just fine..
IIRC Finish line RPM was around 7K,, maybe a fuzz more..So you will be right in the sweet spot, and trap around the same as before.

I would say you will see a little E/T also...Maybe not quite a tenth in the 8th mile...

chip i would put at least a 4.88 in it with your weight. we run a 5.14 with 32" goodyears at around 2850#. but, you drive yours on the street, right? the more gear you have, the harder it is to hook solid.
