I have weight in the garage to externaly balance a motor but I can't remember if it is for a magnum or LA 360 motor, any one know what the weight of each is? Also any one got the instructions about how far out on the converter it is suposed to be welded? It goes oposite of the rear rod journal correct?

All I can tell ya is the LA 360 takes a much larger weight to balance things out than the Magnum. Rods and pistons were quite a bit heavier.
I would just get the B&M flexplate for the proper application and run with it.

I am just trying to throw a junk yard jewel type motor together for no $$$ just stuff I have sitting around and was thinking if the weights I have are for a 360 I could weld them to a spare 318magnum flex plate I have here and make my own plate for nothing.

Dave, The 2000 & up 360 Magnum flex plate has the weight on them instead of the converter. Just quit being cheap & go to the u pull it yard . There usually just dangling in the breeze

Does it say how far out to from the center it goes? I think that is the only spec I need to figure it out.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but the weight goes directly oposite of the rear rod throw correct?
