This was posted on the NHRA site many years ago. I think it's still current.

That's not a really good comparison. The 2nd video shows Valdosta when we were going for the record last year. We were battling carb issues that day. I also picked the wrong gears. Running for the record that day was basically a one shot deal. I wasn't about to jeopardize our chances by pulling a monster wheelstand. In those conditions it doesn't take much to screw up your launch so I tried to stay conservative. I wish the car would have pulled a bigger wheelstand that day because the record would be quicker.

The end result, Jim's 60 foot time was off by .03-.04 and there is no way to make that up once its gone. But we still clipped the record so I guess I can't complain.

How about this one - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFlLsb5nDcA&feature=related

The Barton 68 Dart in the last post used to sit behind ny neighbors house with no front suspension--I bought it for $300 and sold it to the new owner for $1500--It had pieces of firewood under the upper control arms to hold it up so we could load it on the trailer. It went to Ken Kiers and came home after about $70k worth as a SS roller--that Youtube just thrills the former owner and the guys around here that helped me load it that day--not many turn out like that!
I like to think about these old cars this way--How many people have made $$ off of it--like the steel vendors to Mopar in 68--Mopar dealer, used car dealers, individual sales, chassis shops, on and on and on--don't forget all the property tax that has been paid by that ONE car--and how much gas that ONE car has burned --it is amazing what 1 car does for America in the long run---

Yeah, I just got my motor back. It's sitting in the car now. We will be out next year.

The 60 foot was 1.153 when he ran 8.29. I thought it was worse than that. It still should've been 1.11-1.12.

I enjoyed the article in Mopar Action on the Hemi build. $15k for a pair of heads? I guess I'd better stay on the porch. Maybe Santa will take pity on me and bring me a present?

I figured whoever did the heads, would undoubtably do the intake too?

I've got a bunch of Friel, Commella and others that I took at the Mopar Nats in I think 1989. I posted them in the old SS/AH thread but I'll post them again if you all don't mind...
