Maple grove starting line was junk, especially the right lane...

Charlies making some power, just needs a good track, especially the way his car is set up. Not an easy combo to run for sure. Spun on every pass even the .29@162 and change. Went 162.74mph and stayed together, Not too shabby. Also nice to see Dan Jesel in the stands watching the Hemi action.

No sign of Perkins but didn't matter as the track was sh!t for a stick car anyway.

Finally,FINALLY made it to the Dutch. Always tried to go, but could never pull it together. Patience paid off as I was treated to some awesome action, and got to play with my new Nikon D5000. Here are a couple shots...

Had a great time at the Dutch. I went to see the old Hemis run and run thay did . I would like to thank everyone that made it possible . I saw that Warfish was changing slicks before that last run. I wonder if he regrets that decision Would have bin nice to have more cars. I am sure with the weather being so good , even the wife had a good time, some regret not making the trip.
Thanks again

I was there also, good show by the Hemis. Daniels was on! 8.32,8.32 and 8.34 in the Final. I agree there could have been more cars but it was a good show anyhow. You have to give a lot of credit to the Hemi racers, track and sponsors for putting up the purse as the Shoot-out wasn`t sponsored by Mopar. How about the SS/ Modified Daytona from Maine running in the 7s Wow!!!

That's pretty harsh saying that Maple Grove's track was junk. Was it junk when Scott Gove was running 7's with his stick car? I think Charlie just missed the tune up. It happens to all of us. You also make it sound like everyone else had perfect runs.

Its too bad there was a few cars missing. Pancake should have been there but NHRA suspended him for 6 months for the piston deal, which was actually legal in the first place, Perkins from what I understand hurt his engine last week and couldn't fix it in time, and Bill Brooks' rig was stuck in the Carolina's.

David, Tell that to Elio Manino! Luckily no one got hurt. Yes the track was fast, but the STICK comp cars had a real hard time in that right lane ALL day. Daniels went right down the lane in the final and the three pair of comp cars that ran immediately after him shut off right off the line. Elio was the first one to get off the line after Daniels and 1000' immediately into the wall...

The Jennings chassis leaves more like a comp/pro car than a traditional SS'er.

When have you ever seen an official in any sport admit they were wrong? Last season there was a bad call in baseball. The replay video clearly showed that the umpire made a bad call but the league would not reverse the decision.
I wouldn't expect something as small as a .002 infraction thats not on video to be reversed.

You have to set up a chassis that will go down most any track.
The track workers can't help it if some racers setups don't work.
I live a few miles from Maple Grove. I get there a lot. I have never seen the lanes on a race day in a condition that I would consider junk. I've been to Englishtown less than ten times I've never seen it good. Not even close to Maple Grove quality racing surface.

Factor in the weight difference and the fact that there is no stall converter slippage wasting horsepower and he is down on power. If he wasn't his mph would be higher.

You should have been to the last Atco points meet 3 weeks ago. State Police shut the event down when Super Street cars were having problems getting down in one piece.

Hats off to the Barton crew as there setup was obviously superior on Saturday. Would have been nice to see what Mahans car could do and don't know what happened to Gary in the final, but would've been nice to see him win one.

Hopefully these tracks are straightened out next year and Bucky will have his sh!t back in the mix

I was at the Dutch on Friday. The track was far from junk. Quite a few stockers were close to the rear bumper on 9" tires and this included stick cars. Granted later in the day the track temp got cold. I heard around 60 deg. and a few cars got loose down track during record back up runs but they were still hooking on the starting line.

Is anyone planning on heading south again this year to reset the record like last year?
