How many AH cars showed up for the rainout in Indy this weekend? I haven't been able to find qualifying results for Super Stock.

I got to meet Spyphish at the Division 4 races this weekend. It was good talking to you and thanks for your hospitality. Good luck at Indy and maybe I'll see you back at Ennis in September?

They didn't call SS to the lanes for any runs on Saturday and I understand there were some very upset racers and rightfully so. Some traveled a long way to just sit in their trailers while they called, and ran, some snowmobiles down the track.

Geoff Turk and Don Bales was it. SS was the only class that didn't get to make a run cause of the rain. They was in the lanes and up to the burnout box when the rains hit again. Race is rescheduled for May 21 & 22.

Are '64 Plymouth's allowed in this class?

"Class SS/AH restricted to 1968 Plymouth Barracuda and 1968
Dodge Dart with Hemi engine (automatic and/or manual). These
vehicles restricted to this class only."

Jim Hale ran a 1964 Plymouth in SS/AA a couple of races ago and I believe Tony Depillo ran one too. Probably a typo, kind of like CWs engine is usually listed as a 426 Jeep or Caddy.

Picture of Cal and Jon Percy's SS/AH Barracuda. This is from the 2010 MATS. Last I heard, the plan was for Cal to start driving the '64 now that Jon is in the '68.

PMR Chassis. Holton Hemi.

Can anyone give a rough idea what kind of ride height the SS/AH cars are running these days. I am in the process of switching over to a 4 link setup and I sure like the way these hemi cars look, hook and leave ! I was just looking for a rough reference from the ground to bottom of rocker at the front and rear as a staring point for checking ride ht.

thanks

The engine in percy's car was built two years ago, it is allready dated to todays standards. The next time it makes it back to the shop we will upgrade it as best we can....

Is that 1/8 or 1/4 track?
I use to race in the winter at Attica Model Car Dragway. We had a SS/AH shootout every month. I was the Record holder in my "SR WarFish" car the track closed. We ran a "bag" or sealed 20 to keep costs down. Record was .574@43.25 (1/8)When we ran the "regular" SS/AH 20 motors track record was .529 (cars were 125 grams)
We had a blast.
I still have (2) ss/ah cuda's, The SR war fish car and one painted like my race car. Plus a about 10-15 unopened model kits if anyone is looking???

Mopar® HEMI® Challenge Race Series Will Invade Three Tracks in 2010
2010 Mopar® HEMI® Challenge Race Series begins at the
Holley NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion in June

Auburn Hills, Mich. — Mopar®, Chrysler Group LLC’s service, parts and customer-care brand, announced a three-event schedule for the 2010 Mopar HEMI® Challenge Race Series. The popular racing series will make its first-ever appearance at the 2010 Holley NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion (NHRR) at Beech Bend Park in Bowling Green, Ky., June 18–20.

Following the NHRR event, the Mopar HEMI Challenge Race Series will head to the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, Ind., Sept. 1–6, and then wrap up at the JEGS Northern SPORTSnationals at National Trail Raceway outside of Columbus, Ohio, Sept. 24–26.

The winners of the Hot Rod Reunion and SPORTSnationals events will haul in $5,000 paydays. The U.S. Nationals victor will take home a $10,000 winner’s purse. Each event is a stand-alone HEMI Challenge event.

An impressive company of Super Stock/A-HEMI (SS/AH) pilots are scheduled to make the trek to Bowling Green. U.S. Nationals winner Charlie Westcott Sr. and 2008 HEMI Challenge series champion Charlie Westcott Jr. will bring their four-speed Plymouth Barracudas. Gary Wolkwitz, Bob Buntin, Jeff Kobylski, Chuck Comella and Don Bales have confirmed their attendance. Bales will bring his award-winning Plymouth Barracuda, the HEMI that took the 2009 U.S. Nationals Best Appearing Car trophy.

Other top drivers who will compete in the series include two-time 2009 HEMI Challenge winner Jim Daniels, Jim Pancake, Bucky Hess, Joe Teuton Jr. and Darrell Marvel. Pancake, Teuton and Marvel are Chrysler dealers.

“The Mopar HEMI Challenge is for the weekend drag racers who are the core of the series,” said Pietro Gorlier, President & CEO, Mopar Service, Parts & Customer Care, Chrysler Group LLC. “These dedicated racers who compete in the Mopar HEMI Challenge buy Mopar parts from Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge or Ram dealerships and pour money, time and sweat into their Mopar HEMI-powered race cars. They are great examples of the passion for the Mopar brand that exists in the drag-racing community.”

Don't know the answer Dave. There use to be Hobb's Speed Shop run by T/F racer Phil Hobbs back in the 70s & 80s, he curently lives in INDY. And there is a guy that works at Chrysler named Greg Hobbs that is a Tool and Die maker, he use to do some work on the side....I don't know if that is him or not. I will do some rsearch and see what I can come up with.
