You know with these cars running so fast and nobody wants to think about it, but look at this old snap shot of pictures in my scrap book of Ron Mancini crashing at Indy 1976 and just think how much faster these factory race cars are going now and something like this happens, ouch!
BTW, this is what started the window net era also

It looks like it held up better than the red Barracuda from a few years back. Probably 20 MPH difference in speed though.

rons oil filter wasnt tight,,, after that he would put a hose clamp around the filter with a wire under it, then bolted to something so the filter couldnt move once clamped

That very well could have been it. I was there with a SS/B 64 Plymouth, but didn't see the cars.
