Congrats to the Barton crew...

160+, into a head-wind in an automatic 68' Dart is serious horsepower.

2010 should be interesting!
Westcott powered cars run ET's that are comparable to Charlie and his Dads times. I'm sure his customers like that.
Always a bunch of "Jackson Engine Tech" motors in the top half of the field.
While there may be 0.40 difference between Barton motors.

ohh,, now you guys are making jokes....

charlie and i are somewhat talking now,,, i had a bad year breaking things often though i was "learning" piston skirt profiles starting in march,,, picked up 30hp from where i was but now that is down 80,,, i have many things to try over the winter,, though it makes you wonder why you want to chase this thing to win a trophy and spend this much money.

depends on how things go,, im entertaining the thought of switching to another class,,, ill build the motor,,, if it makes enough power ill switch, if not ill stay in super stock

I think some (daniels) bought into some R&D program, and other Barton customers decided not too. Hence the difference in ET... someone can correct me if this is not the case.

What's new? New HP takes a while to filter down. That being said, these cars take cubic dollars and for us guys that have been around for a while are AMAZED at the ET's

david,, you know there is .40 differece in some "barton" motors,, you know,, the ones you guys built 10 years ago..... compared to today..

hey mike,, look at the qualifying at the last couple shootouts..

with how fast this stuff has been advancing guys might not beable to buck up to get the latest manifold,, cam,, crank,, pistons,, rockers,,, etc... so they run what they have,,, when you look at guys that just got new stuff and its the same as the other guy,, they were glued together at maple groove,, with the exception being daniels

Well said Jeff.

Hey Nitro Joe,
can you list the top 20 cars please?

Yo Mike,
I'm not talking about that fact. I was talking about Westcott's customers being on the top half of the field.
And which customers run with him? From my experience he manages to pick up .10-.15 when the pressure is on him whiles his customers fall behind. That's really nice. And I'm talking about the guys that are paying $65,000 for the latest greatest piece.

So David Barton congrats on your recent success, to me it is crazy how quick these cars are going with the limits on the motors. Without giving to much away can you tell me what we can expect with the added horsepower you guys have developed. I never thought we would see these cars knocking on 7's so soon.

Thanks

Isn't this the same argument people made when Nickens ruled comp eliminator for so many years, I think Nickens put his own engine in other cars just to quiet the rumors. At any rate, Congratulations to Barton for their success and it's interesting to watch the march towards the 7's, never thought that would happen.
Happy Holidays Everyone!
Joey

There is lots left in them.

If the weather and track conditions cooperate, I don't see 8.0's being out of the question. For sure 8-teens.

And who knows... maybe someone can pull off 7's. Next year should be very exciting for everyone, both fans and racers.

I hope the competition brings something to the table to keep the class going.
