Any suggestions on what starter to use on an E-body small block with TTI headers ? The rubber boot on this starter looks too close !

In my 74 cuda with Hooker Comp headers I used a mopar mini starter i got from summitt racing. Its in the magazine in theeir mopar section. Ive had it on my 440 for 6 yrs now and have had no issues with it.

Late model Durango/Dakota starter turns my 12:1 SB and turned my 12:75:1 BB fine.

There are a lot of similarities between the mini starters and the late model ones...

What does it look like if you remove the boot?

There is a stud with a nut, a wire, then another nut. The nut will be rubbing the header if I remove the boot. I went to the Hardware store and got 2 thinner nuts along with some header tape from Mancini. It helped, but it's still too close for comfort. And dinging the headers is not an option.

This starter will give you a lot more header clearance:
