Would any of the cams in the 240@50 range still be streetable? I want it to have a nice choppy idle but at the same time I dont want to lose a lot of low end torque.
A local guy has a Hughes 237/242 @ .050, .548/.555 hydraulic in his 408. It hits a good lick and runs 7 teens in a 3200# Dart Sport. IIRC the motor is about 9.8-1 on the compression.

I have the comp 275hl in my 408. It sounds and drives pretty good. It definitely sounds cammed but isn't the rumpetiest, I can idle below 1000 rpm. Power comes on good in the midrange and pulls steady to 5-6k but no explosive cam 'turn on' in the upper rpms like a more radical cam. I think I could have gone with the 285hl and gotten some more horses, but for a hot daily driver I am satisfied. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyU83fpak4AKevin
