On the exhaust side, about in the middle of the head, it is stamped 'S. M. NO. 144' and under this is stamped '1087'. On the right side it's stamped 'L.H.'

This is a dual plug head.

Thanks!

Dave

Maybe they were ported by Sox & Martin (or someone wanting to pass them off as S&M heads)? By the look of the exhaust ports, they look like the standard exhaust ports. The D6 aluminum, dual-plug head had raised exhaust ports as far as I know. Does the casting number end with 110 or 433? The 110 heads are the 1965 Hemi heads and the 433 heads are the D6 heads. The 110 heads didn't have dual plugs, but I've seen some modified and had them modified.

They are 433.

I dug out the other one and it says the same thing, except below it says '1096' and 'Mullen & Co.'.

They don't appear to be ported. They are factory dual plug.

Someone on the other thread said the D-6 heads had a different casting number (3614485 I think). I guess these are the Ross Foundry heads, P3690038. Mullen did an aluminum head called a D4A, maybe these are what Bob used? Hard to believe that Mullen did heads that weren't ported. They had the dual plugs.

do you want to sell them? they are what was ran in early 70'd pro stock cars. I have a set on my motor and need another set. its a good idea to run the wide pad rocker gear with them. if you want to sell them and they are useable call me 724-968-6245, thanks Ron
