OK guys, I was bench racing today and was told my headers are too small. 2 1/8 by 30 into a 3 inch collector. 578 ci motor 440-1 heads making 914 hp at 6700 rpm ex opens at 92' bbdc. I went to wallace racing and the calculator was saying 2.45 dia by 28.64 lenght and a 4.65 collector. what are you running on your motors.John

im not an expert but primarys sounds like they are on the limit, but those collectors must hold you back i would say minimum 3½" collectors if you are also going to hook it up to some kind of streetexhaust otherways i would think 4"collectors would be just right, will be intresting to see what the more knowledgable guys will say about it

Did you run that same header on the dyno?

Is that a merged collector? I can see the "pinch" of a merged collector being 3", but not the cone or straight section after the primaries.

Yes the headers were the ones run on the dyno, and I did have a typo on collector it is a 3 1/2 inch slip on collector. JOhn

John, I think you could benefit from a larger diameter header at that weight(how did you get a Charger under 3000 lbs??? ) I run a 2-1/8 step header with my 572 Indy motor but I weigh in at 3580 in my Sport Satellite with driver!

The car has a one piece lift off nose and full alum interior, lexan windows, strut front with a 4 link back half, mild steel cage. I wish I could get mine down to what sean's charger weighs. John

It's not all that hard.

I got my 71 @ 2820 (W/O driver) right now and I still have some room to play with to get it even lower.
